Here are some of the fun times! The memories….

Manaus – Heart of the Amazon

The Pope visited and blessed a roundabout (yes, a roundabout) and this was his first (and only) visit to Brazil!

Markets & Boats

Plant “ivory”, historic Manaus and a recce for my Amazonian river adventure!

The Amazon Rainforest

My trip down the Amazon, where I saw the meeting of the waters, met some amazing people (tourists and indigenous), nearly swam with pink dolphins (I only filmed this on Peter’s phone, (as mine had died) because I had to sing the next day and didn’t want to catch a cold! I will post this footage once Peter and Klaus send it. Fellas, a hint, here!) and yes ate ANTS (which were actually nicer than the plant stuff we also tasted, as in ‘give me more ants to get rid of that taste’)

Workshop & Community Engagement

Work stuff, see above (I had an AMAZING time. I was buzzin all night)

Trabalhe coisas, veja acima (eu tive um tempo INCRÍVEL. Eu estava brincando a noite toda)

The Indigenous Medical Centre & The Alci Matos Community

More workstuff (see above). Amazing and inspiring work with the community.

Mais trabalhos (veja acima). Trabalho incrível e inspirador com a comunidade.

Musa & Rio Negre

Now, I was feeling very Indiana Jones (without the Indiana or Jones). The views……(and the curious vivas)!!!! I did swim and ‘kayak’ in the Rio Negro this time but there were no pink dolphins…

As vistas …… (e as vivas curiosas)!!!!

Amazon Theatre & LABINS (UFAM)

This was an amazing tour and Samir was (very) thorough, as you will see. In the evening, Claudia and I went to the concert that you will hear them rehearsing. It was brilliant but the air conditioning reminded me too much of the ‘beast from the east’, at times, so we were really happy to get back outside in the balmy, sultry Manausian late-evening air!

More amazing work, here! The resilience of these ladies is truly inspiring (see above). The music, though (Pagode do Quilombo)……….

Trabalho mais incrível, aqui! A resiliência dessas senhoras é realmente inspiradora (veja acima). A música, porém (Pagode do Quilombo) ……….

Homeward Bound

You’ll guess from my face, the travelling back bit was not so nice (I was so tired!!). But I’ll be back!
